Wide Variety of Meters and Modules Available For Electric, Gas and Water Metering
Residential and Small Commercial Electric Meters
As components of the EnergyAxis System, the REX® meter and REX2-EA meter bring advanced metering infrastructure capabilities to residential metering applications. Utilities can obtain interval data, bidirectional energy, critical tier, and time-of-use (TOU) data through the EnergyAxis network. Both the REX and REX2-EA meters are manufactured by Elster Electricity and are available in standard residential metering form factors (1S, 2S, 3S, 4S, and 12S). A second source residential electric meter is now available for the EnergyAxis System. EIS entered into an alliance with Landis+Gyr Inc. to provide interoperable AMI solutions that give customers choices in selecting metering endpoints. Landis+Gyr and EIS have developed an AMI endpoint that combines Elster’s EnergyAxis® System mesh radio frequency technology with Landis+Gyr’s solid-state, residential FOCUS™ meter platform. With the availability of the FOCUS meter, utilities using the EnergyAxis System now have another choice for residential electricity metering endpoints. Already in development, the EnergyAxis-enabled FOCUS endpoint is expected to be commercially available in the second half of 2008. More information on the FOCUS meter.
As a component of the EnergyAxis System, the A3 ALPHA® meter node brings advanced metering infrastructure capabilities to commercial and industrial metering applications and high end residential applications where real and reactive energy measurements are desired. Utilities can obtain interval data, real and reactive energy metering, critical tier, and time-of-use (TOU) data through the EnergyAxis network. A3 ALPHA is manufactured by Elster Electricity. As a node in the EnergyAxis network, the A3 ALPHA meter reports meter readings, status, warning messages, and interval data to the collector that is then read by the EnergyAxis Metering Automation Server (MAS).
Gas Metering Solution
The EnergyAxis® gas module enables EnergyAxis System users to deploy a single AMI solution for both gas and electricity metering, and is compatible with all major gas meter types. It can easily be programmed to work with a fixed factor, pressure-compensating index. More information on the gas module.
Water Metering Solution
Utilities that use the EnergyAxis System for electricity metering can use the EnergyAxis water module to remotely collect register readings and usage data from water meters. Compatible with all major water meter types, water modules can be used in pit applications, remote-mounting applications, and direct mounted to the water meter. More information on the water module.
