System Analyst/Technician, EnergyAxis

Primary responsibilities
• Manage an inventory of 1000 to 2000 wireless devices installed in a field test environment, using Access Database and the Metering Automation Server (MAS) Application.
• Maintain set of marriage files containing all 1000 to 2000 devices.
• Become proficient with MAS 6.2 software and its associated databases and communications back-end add-ons.
• Become proficient in the use of MeterExplorer and other meter tools, for purposes of troubleshooting and firmware upgrades.
• Maintain set of field troubleshooting equipment, which includes insuring that all applications and the latest config files are kept updated on a daily basis.
• Keep daily system performance records and maintain records of all device upgrades and change-outs.
• Document issues and escalate to the System Test group as needed.
• Respond to issues that have been identified as hardware issues by the System Test group.
• Compose and issue work orders as needed for equipment change-outs in the field.
• Operation of Laptop PC, Radix Handheld and related sniffer tools in the field for troubleshooting and for on-site device firmware upgrades.

Qualifications
• Knowledge of electric utility metering practices in general. Five years of electric utility meter shop or field experience preferred.
• MV-90 data-collection operation experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Windows operation in a server environment.
• Basic knowledge of RF communication and propagation characteristics.
• Able to use MS Office tools such as Excel and Database for analysis and reporting.

Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics is preferred, but will consider other degrees or individuals with a combination of an Associates degree and equivalent work experience.
