Systems Analyst

Primary responsibilities
Work on evaluating performance and scalability of a large enterprise software system which includes examining system dynamics, disk drives, RAID configurations, enterprise storage systems, operating system, network configuration, system virtualization, database configuration, and modem configuration. 
 
• Responsible for configuring system components of Elster’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) software. 

• Design and implement new system functionality to meet requirements.

• Develop new software system solutions focusing on scalability and ease of deployment.

• Focus on performance and high availability of the data collection system.

• Take ownership of new system implementations.

Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years Systems Analyst experience.

• Virtualization experience is a big plus.

• Experience with storage systems (SAN or NAS) is necessary.

• Networking is a plus.

• Oracle database knowledge is helpful.

• Background with blade systems is preferred.

• Prior experience designing scalable solutions.

• XML related technologies background.

• Any background within the metering or utilities industry is a big plus.

• Must have ability to learn and understand internal system and domain functionality

• Good oral and written communication skills to document configuration design, performance results, report status, generate presentations, etc.

• Candidate should have good working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.

• Prior experience in systems architecture, ability to troubleshoot complex systems, hands on experience with different systems necessary.

Education
Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
