RF LAN Support Analyst

Primary responsibilities
Candidate must possess the skills necessary to program and configure electronic meters and troubleshoot them over telephone modem and TCP/IP connections.  Should be able to write and modify Python scripts that are used to upgrade firmware versions, analyze RF communications and network topology using proprietary and commercially available tools.  Responsibilities will also include customer support of meter reading problems and high-level testing of meter functionality in an automated meter reading system. Should have excellent troubleshooting skills, and good communication skills. Should have good group personnel and customer relationship skills. Travel required up to 10 percent - mostly domestic, but some international travel may be required.

Qualifications
Minimum of two years experience in troubleshooting and diagnostic experience on computer or industrial control systems. Experience with electricity metering and knowledge of the electric utility industry. Requires programming skills using Python and some knowledge working with embedded systems through telephone modems and TCP/IP socket connections. Good team attitude and communications skills.  Knowledge of automated meter reading systems and software, Handheld and En-route meter reading systems is desired but not required. Basic understanding of XML, and SQL is a plus.

Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent).
