Business Requirements Analyst/Technical Product Manager
Primary responsibilities
Know your customers - work with clients to gather customer feedback, and participate in customer advisory groups and studies to analyze trends and identify customer requirements and key issues.
Know your product – Help prioritize and compile appropriate business and feature requirements/commercial specifications based on customer and market needs with business and/or technical constraints.
Build your product - collaborate with systems, design, and development to transform business requirements into new products and features. Participate in acceptance testing of projects prior to release.
Drive your product - work with project deployment services to drive the launch of new products and capabilities by providing critical messaging, positioning, and product information to training, marketing, customer service, and sales.
Enhance your products - prioritize efforts to maintain and incrementally enhance existing products.
Work cross-functionally; become the expert - Respond to product inquiries and support ongoing sales and marketing efforts including development of subject matter for RFPs and RFIs. Must be comfortable demonstrating product capabilities to customers.
The role requires a hands on person who can effectively work cross-functionally on a daily basis with Design/Development/QA on the development and review of functional specifications.
Qualifications
Two to four years successful business analyst/systems analyst/product management experience in enterprise software, technology and/or telecommunications fields.
Five years of relevant work experience in enterprise software, technology and/or telecommunications.
Knowledge of metering and utility enterprise systems such as AMI, MDM, OMS is a plus.
Highly motivated and action-oriented individual.
Must be conversant and comfortable with IT terminology and concepts such as system scalability, telecommunications, software architecture, hardware architecture, and high availability.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to perform both on the tactical and strategic level.
Hands-on approach to managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Ability to work well with and earn the respect of development, sales, marketing and customer service teams.
U.S. Citizen or resident with ability to travel internationally.
30 to 50 percent travel.
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering of related field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering) required. An MBA is preferred.
