Senior Engineering Technician

Primary responsibilities
Support the design engineering team efforts to design, develop, support, introduce and maintain products.  Perform hands-on tasks, including troubleshooting to the component level, environmental testing, parts qualification, soldering, cable making, prototyping, creation of text fixtures, and field testing.  Support the introduction of new products into the manufacturing environment, and support of the product as issues arise related to testing, suppliers, and quality.  Be self-directed at times and make authoritative decisions to resolve issues with limited information.  Monitor and document product quality and factory yields.

Qualifications
SMT (Surface Mount Technology) troubleshooting and repair experience needed.
Experience with AMR and AMI or communications products preferred. 
Experience across the areas of design, development, product support, test, troubleshooting, and factory introduction. 
Working knowledge of electronics (RF, batteries, power supplies and digital) mechanical (enclosures and fixtures), firmware, software (e.g., Labview), testing, and quality monitoring techniques. 
Strong hands-on electronics lab skills and experience with common test equipment. 
Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
Good track record of job execution. 

Education
Bachelors of Science degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or engineering associates degree with at least five years of experience in development of high volume electronic products.
